ARC61804 - Green Strategies for Building Design
Tutor: Mr. Axxu
Module Coordinator: Mr. Shawn
Project 1 - Passive Green Building Case Studies Poster & Booklet
For this group project, we were assigned to choose 2 precedent studies of building designs that possess passive green strategies, each from a tropical climate region and from other climatic region (Arid, Mediterranean, Temperate Continental, Polar). The objectives of this project were to critically appraise application of chosen green strategies within different case studies, and to analyze theories and principles of passive green building design strategies. Furthermore, students were to describe passive sustainable designs, its green technologies and its applicable design strategies. And to analyze passive sustainable design strategies in relation to climate and culture and compare their impact on space and user experience.

Project 2 - Passive Green Building Strategies Individual Report
This individual project required students to produce an A3 report documenting the passive green strategies employed in their building designs in relation to their final studio project. The objectives were to analyze theories and principles of passive green building design strategies, and to integrate understandings of sustainable design strategies in the development of architectural design.
The In-Between - Passive Green Building Design Strategies
One of the main design concepts of The In-Between is semi-open, where most of the spaces aren't necessarily confined within solid walls. Open spaces encourage circulation of people and allows natural ventilation to occur. In addition, sun-shading features are employed in this building design such as steel canopy roof/trellis and louver slits to deflect and diffuse sunlight.
